Stockton Tournament - 9/10/10 - Match 2 vs West Valley

We've had a long break in between matches so we should be fresh and ready to play.  Had fun doing some short interviews with members of the team.  Need to get the rest of the crew on the next break.

Looks like we are serving first.  Judy will get us started.  Stuff by Brit and Hailey, 1-0.  Hit one in the net from the back row, 1-1.  Long serve by WV, 2-1.  Brit serving.  WV dinks one over the block, 2-2.  Long hit by WV, 3-2.  K9 to serve.  Judy with a nice dig, but we let the hit go, 3-3.  Ace for WV, 3-4.  4 hit call, 3-5.  Wide serve by WV, 4-5.  Hailey serves long, 4-6.  Serve receive error, 4-7.  Another one, 4-8.  Long by WV, 5-8.  Taylor to serve.  Nice up by Brit, back row attempt by Hailey, dig by Alisha, several blocks by Megan but we end up losing the point. 5-9.  Wide hit by WV, 6-9.  Alisha to serve.  Wide hit by WV, 7-9.  Double call on WV, 8-9.  Block by Brit and Megan but K9 couldn't get the dig up, 8-10.  K9 with a kill, 9-10.  Judy serves, K9 with a kill, 10 all.  Alisha with a dig, then another one, then confusion, sideout 10-11.  Brit with a nice shot, 11 all.  Brit to serve, bad call at the net, Ref says we were over the net, 11-12.  Two attempts by K9 then Hailey gets stuffed, 11-13.  Nice shot down line for WV, 11-14.  Timeout 49er's.  WV gets one off our block, 11-15.  Nice dump by Taylor, 12-15.  K9 to serve.  WV gets one in the middle, 12-16.  Alisha answers back with a hammer, 13-16.  Hailey serving.  WV hits out, 14-16.  K9 can't get one up, 14-17.  WV scores, 14-18.  Long serve, 15-18.  Almost got K9 in the head.  Taylor serves.  We can't get the dig up, 15-19.  Brit hammers one home from the outside, 16-19.  Alisha to serve.  WV get one in the middle, 16-20.  Ace by WV, 16-21.  A dink over the block for WV, 16-22.  K9 rips one down line, 17-22.  Megan serves, we let them dink another one in the middle, 17-23.  Hailey with a kill, 18-23.  Brit to serve.  WV gets a big one in the middle, 18-24.  Setter dump and it's 18-25.  We have to cover the dinks better against this team.  Back row will really need to be up close and make them have to hit.

Game 2: Long rally to start but it's 0-1.  WV in the net, 1-1.  Brit to serve.  WV gets one in a hole, 1-2.  Hailey gets one down, 2-2, K9 to serve.  It goes long, 2-3.  Hailey mistimes one, 2-4.  Nice dump by Taylor, 2-4, Hailey serving.  WV gets one, 3-5.  WV serves net, 4-5, Taylor to serve.  We lose another on a dink, 4-6.  Double call on WV, 5-6.  Alisha to serve.  Touch on a block, but nice hustle, 5-7.  Net hit, 5-8.  K9 with a rip down line.  6-9.  K9 hits out, 6-9.  Hailey dinks one in, 7-9.  Brit to serve.  WV in the net, 8-9.  Timeout WV.  Wv gets on off our block, 8-10.  K9 with one from the right side, 9-10, K9 to serve.  WV comes right back, 9-11.  Long rally with some great digs by Alisha and K9 but WV gets the point, 9-12.  WV stuffs one, 9-13.  We lose another long rally, 9-14.  Double on WV, 10-14, Hailey serving.  WV hits net, 11-14.  WV gets one deep, 11-15.  WV gets another one, 11-16 then serves long, 12-16 with Taylor serving.  Setter in the net, 12-17.  Ace by WV, 12-18.  Brit knocks one home, 13-18, Alisha to serve.  K9 with a deep kill, 14-18.  Double on us, 14-19.  WV goes deep, 14-20.  Brit gets another one, 15-20, Judy to serve.  double on wv 16-20.  A big Hailey comet from the middle, 17-20.  Let one go deep, 17-21.  Nobody home on D, 17-22.  Timeout 9er's.  Brit gets stuffed and it's 17-23.  K9 fires back and it's 18-23.  Brits serves long, 18-24.  WV in the net, 19-24, K9 serving.  Confusion again, 19-25.  Self inflicted wounds are taking a toll.  Just keep working on it and we can do this!

Game 3:  We'll serve with Megan taking the lead.  Long by WV, 1-0.  Nice to start with a lead!  WV gets one by the block, 1-1.  2-1 on a block, brit to serve.  2-2 on an error.  Still can't cover the middle dink, 2-3.  K9 gets one down line from the right side, 3 all.  K9 serves an ace, 4-3.  WV answers back, 4 all.  Serve receive error, 4-5.  Another one, 4-6.  Self inflicted wounds!!!!  Nice rally but WV gets the point, 4-7.  Judy gets one from the back row and wins the serve, 5-7.  Ace for Judy, 6-7.  Megan gets stuffed in the middle, 6-8.  Another serve receive error, 6-9.  Timeout 9er's.  We have to receive serve better than this or we are not long in this tournament.  Long by WV, 7-9.  Taylor to serve.  WV gets another one in the middle, 7-10.  K9 hits one in the net, 7-11.  Double on WV, 8-11, Alisha to serve.  Another confused play, 8-12.  WV with one down line, 8-13.  Bad pass and it's 8-14.  Serve receive error, 8-15.  WV gets another slam, 8-16.  WV goes down line from the right side, 8-17 and it's timeout 9er's.  We hit one in the net, 8-18.  Ace on the line for WV, 8-19.  Serve receive error, 8-20.  WV serves net, 9-20.  Megan to serve, and a stuff by Hailey 10-20.  WV in the net, 11-20.  Net serve, 11-21.  K9 gets a kill off the block, 12-21 and Brit to serve.  WV hits net, 13-21.  WV gets one in the middle, 13-22.  Out by WV, K9 to serve, 14-22.  Nice rally, but it's WV 14-23.  Hailey with one from the right side, 15-23 and she gets the serve and it's short, 15-24.  WV gets a kill in the middle and it's 15-25.  Yuba loses 0-3 and now has to go referee a match.

Side note:  Just got a picture of my first grand daughter.  Born today at 5:41 Central time.  Brooklyn came in at 6 lbs 1 oz and 19" long.  Cute little outfit!
