Got to the game just as it got started tonight. Took a bit for the computer to get cranked up. This is a make-up game with Los Medanos (LM) that we had to cancel due to a power outage during construction activities. We started off on a 6-1 run and Hailey had a nice C to start things off. We're halfway through the first rotation and it's 10-6 with LM serving. Megan nails a nice one in the middle, 11-6 with Taylor to serve. A little confusion on a pass and it's 11-7. LM finds a hole in the back for 11-8. We let a pass fall at the net, 11-9. They get another one off of a touch block, 11-10. We're out of synch on Offense. An ace serve ties it up at 11 and Chapman wants a timeout to talk things over. Good timeout as LM serves long, 12-11 with K9 serving. LM gets a sharp angle shot to drop, 12 all. We are late to a dig on the back row, 12-13. Alisha slaps one cross court and it's 13 all with Megan serving. LM hits wide, 14-13. Alisha gets a block for 15-13. Brit hits one in the net, 15-14. Alisha ends a long rally with a swipe off the block, 16-14 with Judy serving. Taylor slips a dunk in on them, 17-14. Timeout Los Medanos. LM hits wide, 18-14. Hailey sends one down, 19-14. Alisha gets one to go off a shank pass by LM, 20-14 and Los Medanos wants another timeout. Taylor gets another dump down, 21-14. Big block by Hailey in the middle, 22-14. LM hits long, 23-14. Alisha gets another block for 24-14. LM hits wide of the antenna, 25-14 for another 49er win. The teams switch sides and get some water down. It's 100 degrees outside and feels about the same in the gym. No air circulation, but if we can get this done in 3, that will be nice.
Game 2: Looks like Megan will start us off serving for this game. LM finds that big hole in our D for 0-1. We make a great save and then LM hits the antenna, 1-1. Judy serving. Big stuff by Hailey in the middle, 2-1. Ace by Judy! 3-1. LM hits the net, 4-1. K9 can't dig up a line shot, 4-2. Hailey sends a text message down the middle, 5-2 with Alisha serving. Ace, 6-2. Hailey hits a nice runner-3 for 7-2. LM gets one right through our block, 7-3. K9 gets a sharp angle to drop, 8-3 with Hailey serving. Los Medanos gets one deep, 8-4. LM serves net, 9-4 with Taylor to serve. We let one hit the floor after a long rally, 9-5. Bad serve receive, 9-6. Alisha mis-hits one from the back row, 9-7. They call LM in the net, 10-7 with K9 serving. Brit slaps one down from the right side, 11-7. Ace by K9, 12-7. LM gets one down the front of our block, 12-8. Long rally ends when LM hits one in the net, 13-8 with Megan serving. Los Medanos hits another one behind the antenna, 14-8. Another runner-3 by Hailey makes it 15-8. Hailey gets a another block on an overpass by LM and it's 16-8 and looks like Los Medanos wants a timeout to talk about it. Megan serving out of the timeout. Ace, 17-8. Hailey slaps down another overpass, 18-8. Another Ace, 19-8. Serve barely catches the top of the net, 19-9. Confusion on serve receive, 19-10. LM hits one in off our block, 19-11. Hailey gets another big hit in the middle, 20-11 with Juday in to serve. LM hits the antenna again, 21-11. Los Medanos gets one off our block, 21-12. Another hit in the middle for Hailey, 22-12. Alisha serves an Ace, 23-12. Another Ace, 24-12. Block by K9 and Hailey makes it a 25-12 win for Yuba.
Game 3: Los Medanos will start off with the serve. LM gets one off our block, 0-1. They serve in the net, 1-1 with Judy to serve for the 9er's. Ace, 2-1. Controversial lift call on us, 2-2. Then an Ace by LM and it's 2-3. Hailey mis-times a hit and it falls empty, 2-4. LM hits one in the net, 3-4 with Alisha serving. LM gets a big one down the middle, 3-5. Hailey gets stuffed, 3-6. They get one over our block, 3-7. K9 gets one and it's 4-7 with Hailey serving. K9 gets stuffed, 4-8. LM gets another one down the front of our block, 4-9. Megan hits one long, 4-10. Timeout by Coach Chapman. I can only imagine what he has to say right now. Stop beating ourselves! Take our time and find a hole to put the ball in. We're hitting right at the defenders. Need to make them work a little harder on the other side of the net. LM serves out, Taylor to serve, 5-10. Taylor serves net, 5-11. Double call on our set, 5-12. We're digging a deep hole here! LM serves long, K9 to serve, 6-12. Ace Ace baby, 7-12. Alisha gets one down, 8-12. Brit slaps one down from the right, 9-12. Bigtime block by Brit, 10-12. LM hits long, 11-12 and here come the 49er's!! Timeout by Los Medanos. LM gets one in the deep corner, 11-13. LM hits long, 12-13 with Megan to serve. Another runner-3 by Hailey ties it up at 13 all. LM hits one in the net, 14-13 and the 9er's have the lead. LM ties it up with a dribbler over the net, 14 all. LM is in the net, 15-14 with Judy in to serve. LM gets one through our block, 15 all. Ace by LM, 15-16. A bad pass by us makes it 15-17. LM hits out, 16-17 with Alisha serving. Ace! 17 all. Hailey gets stuffed, 17-18. We save a receive and get one to fall, 18 all with Hailey serving. She serves wide, 18-19. Need to clean it up if we're gonna pull this out. Megan gets one in the deep corner, 19 all with Taylor serving. LM hits out, 20-19. Timeout by the Mustangs! LM gets one down in front of the block, 20-20. Double on LM, 21-20 with K9 to serve. Long rally! LM gets one down deep in the back to end a really exciting rally, 21 all. Brit lights one up, 22-21 with Megan to serve. Net serve, 22 all. Hailey hits wide, 22-23. LM gets one to drop off our block, 22-24 and Coach Chapman wants a timeout. LM hits one in the net after digging up a block by Brit. 23-24 with Judy serving. K9 lets one hit, we lose it 23-25. Coach doesn't look to thrilled right now. I can guarantee the fans are not happy with having to sit through another game in this heat. I hope they come out and jump on this fast and put it away.
Game 4: Megan will lead us off with the serve. Hailey gets a stuff to go up 1-0. Ace by Megan, 2-0. Brit gets one down, 3-0. Net serve ends the run, 3-1. Los Medanos hits net, 4-1 with Judy to serve. Alisha gets a sharp angle to drop 5-1. Hailey stuffs another one, 6-1. Hailey slaps one down in the middle, 7-1 and it's timeout Mustangs! This is much better. Double on a set by LM and it's 8-1 49er's. LM hits out, 9-1. Ace by Judy, 10-1. Hailey hits wide on a C, 10-2. Bad serve receive, 10-3. Alisha hits one in the net, 10-4. Hailey stuffs one, 11-4 and Alisha to serve. Another runner-3 by Hailey and it's 12-4. Net serve, 12-5. We let one get by us, 12-6. A great dump by Taylor makes it 13-6 and Hailey to serve. Double on LM, 14-6. Megan hits one long, 14-7. Megan gets a dink to fall, 15-7 and Taylor serving. Hailey gets one from the back row, 16-7. LM hits wide, 17-7. LM gets one on the angle, 17-8. K9 hits one in the net, 17-9. Brit gets one off the block, 18-9 with K9 to serve. Brit gets one down, 19-9. Block by Megan makes it 20-9. LM finds a hole in our defense, 20-10. Brit slaps down another one, 21-10 with Megan serving. We let a free ball drop on the line, 21-11. Let's go ladies, finish this thing! Ace by LM, 21-12. Tip by Haiely and it's 22-12 with Judy serving. LM finds that big hole in the middle again, 22-13. LM serves the net, 23-13 with Alisha serving. Block by Hailey makes it 24-13. Los Medanos hits wide, and we win 25-13. Let's get out of here and find some air conditioning.
